What is a homepage? (index page)

The homepage (or index page) is your most important page because most of the time, that's where visitors start. The purpose of your home page is to get your visitors attention and allow them to find information quickly and easily. By using compelling headlines and emphasizing benefits that link to inner pages, visitors can find more information that steers them to the products and services they would like to purchase. The homepage is your base of operation in most cases

What is Search Engine Optimization?

SEO is one of the least expensive methods of driving traffic to a website. It's a great value when you compare the cost to the benefit.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a mixture of intuition, art and science. It is a constantly changing technology and science creatively and ethically applied to a website for the purpose of increasing search engine rankings. In other words, giving the search engines what they want in order to catagorize you at the top of the listings. SEO is an ongoing process and pays off when a website ranks high in the listings for the desired search terms.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) includes such things as: Keyword phrase analysis, and proper placement in the text of a page. HTML optimization of your homepage and subpages, title, description, keyword meta-tags, etc. Link building strategies such as reciprocal link campaigns to help boost search engine rankings. Submitting to directories and non-spider engines. Maintaining and monitoring sites and making adjustments for high rankings.

Can you explain search engine friendly?

Search engine friendly simply means that your keyword phrases have been researched and chosen carefully, and have been incorporated into a few hundred words of visible copy on the pages of the website. It also means that the website is designed so that search engines can follow the links throughout the site and read the information provided on every page.

Other aspects of search engine optimization include creating search engine friendly HTML (hyper text markup language) coding such as: keyword-rich "title tags", "meta tags" and link reputation. (links from websites with a similar theme are preferred)

What are "High Rankings"

When you search for a term like "your-keyword-phrase" if your website ranks high, it will be one of the top 30 sites that come up on page 1,2 or 3. High rankings in the search engines and directories can bring you lots of targeted traffic. The search engines rankings are determined in an automated fashion based upon the content of the site, its coding, link popularity, and other SEO factors.

Each search engine has its own proprietary algorithm for ranking sites according to what keywords the search engine user is searching for. A directory will rank your site based on what relevancy a human editor gives it upon review.

Most of the time, sites that are optimized to rank well in search engines will have keyword rich content and abide by the basic rules of the search engines. These professionally optimized sites will also score extremely well in the directories using the proper submission guidelines.

Why are search engines so important?

Study after study shows that search engines are the primary way that people find the websites they're looking for. Over 85% of web users find the websites they're looking for by using a search engine.

What is link popularity?

The only way to boost link popularity is to obtain links directed to your site from other sites (preferably with a similar theme). This can be done by offering a reciprocal link exchange to the webmaster. But it's a time-consuming process such as: identifying sites relevant to your theme that rank well and contacting them to request a link and following up. It's well worth the time because links can help boost your rankings above your competition.

We don't recommend link farms or automated FFA link sites (often considered spam) that just collect your email address (to sell or use) and in most cases won't help your ranking in the search engines. You may even be penalized (dropped from the search engines), and on top of that, you may be spammed with thousands of unwanted emails from solicitors.

Do you accept all clients?

We only accept English Language sites at this time. However, once the website is built we can translate your website to any language and get you a global presence on all of the worlds search engines, directories and PPC services.

We do not accept adult content websites.

What is PPC?

PPC stands for "Pay-Per-Click". We'll use Overture as our example because in our opinion, it is one of the best PPC services at this time (along with Google's Adwords). Overture allows you to bid on keywords and phrases of your choice so you can achieve top of the page listings in some of the major search engines, i.e:

  • Yahoo
  • Alta Vista
  • MSN and many smaller engines.

When someone searchs for a keyword or phrase in one of these search engines, the results are listed in descending order by the amount of the bid. The highest bidder is #1. Each time someone clicks on your site you are charged the amount of the bid you placed. Bids start at $.10 and climb from there. Minimum monthly bidding must total $25 or more.
